CHAPTER ONE

VLT's Laser

A laser beam launched from telescope creates an artificial guide star in the Earth's athmosfere.

Operating the Very Large Telescope (VLT).

This laser beam allows astronomers to remove the effects of atmospheric turbulence. Obtain its energy spectrum permits to adjust the optic lenses (knowing the atmospheric interferences) to view the electromagnetic spectrum. In consequence, this Very Large Telescope is able to produce images as sharp as if it was in space.
