Photonics is the physical science of light waves. It deals with the science behind the generation, detection and manipulation of light. Light has a dual nature known as the wave-particle duality. That is to say that light has characteristics of both a continuous electromagnetic wave and a particle (photon).

The aim of this page is to show four photonics experiments and analyze the science behind them, and plus answer some of the questions I have had while and after doing them.

First experiment

Water drops

Firstly, open a white page in the mobile phone, such as this one. Take a little bit of water with a syringe and put a drop on the mobile screen.
